Due to advances in technology and automation, it is feasible for there to be a ONE MAN UNICORN. That means a solo entrepreneur can make a business that leads to 1B in valuation. Think about this clearly.
One man. No employees. A Billionaire.

How can this happen?

This can only happen with returns to scale. Ruthless efficiency. Systems to automate and avoid burnout. One person has to build systems that can run in their sleep, with the added complexity of the restriction of no human labor to do complex tasks.
It will be harder to do such a business in manufacturing (requires added complexity that robotics haven’t solved yet) than something like professional services (ie law, accounting, marketing, etc). AI has reduced the cognitive burden so that intelligence is now a commodity. That does not eliminate all intellectual labor, but returns scale to coordinating your company effectively.

If your business is bad, poorly planned out, terribly executed. AI will not save you. At the very best, it may give warning signs that something is not working; at worst, it will hasten your business’s decline.
However, AI amplifies businesses in the opposite way. If you have an effective business with durable moats, you will have a powerful business, further enabled and enhanced by AI. You cannot outsource all executive function to AI, because AI won’t make the decisions you will make in all situations (at least not until we are perfectly able to put a human brain on a computer).

The only way one can scale is having DIY software with a moat for mass market, or high touch high ticket services to the rich. The mass market requires consumer spending, durable moats, and sound infrastructure, whereas high ticket services to the rich require personal expertise, dedicated time, and a fully powered AI back office.
The execution of this requires building a system to enable you to choose your clientele, reach out to contacts, manage strategy, manage your customer relationships, build quality workflows, and do the work needed to advance your business.

You are in charge of the strategy. AI can be your advisor and help you sanity check. It is all up to you to build your business, and you have to reach the opportunities. The greatest strength and greatest weakness is that you are the ultimate accountable person. There is no boss, nobody to tell you what to do. It is just you, your business, and success or failure is real and on your shoulders.

True failure mode isn’t failing to make money. Failure mode is getting sued because you failed to follow basic data privacy regulations. It is failing to provide controls for your business so that AI cyberattacks and ransomware kill your business. It is the impacts of cyberstalking and confidence schemes designed to soft launch the theft of your valuable Intellectual Property or other resources.
All in all, the next billion dollar solo business will be here soon if not already. Thanks to technical advancements, you may be able to be the one who does it.
